  An Air Transat flight to the Dominican Republic was forced to turn back to Montreal on Friday night after only 40 minutes in the air when a passenger became verbally aggressive toward another passenger and attendants could not calm him down.

  An 84-year-old man died in a house fire in Sainte-Luce, near Rimouski, Friday night.
  The fire broke out around 10 p.m. in the home on Route 132 West. A woman escaped from the burning house in flames, but the man was trapped there.
  The firefighters finally managed to get the unconscious man out but he was declared dead in hospital.
  The cause of the fire is unknown but arson is not suspected, according to the Sûreté du Québec.

  A 31-year-old woman was stabbed on the street early Saturday night in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough.
  She was walking on de Grosbois St. shortly after midnight when a man approached her from behind, held a knife under her throat and threatened her.
  The woman screamed, which made the man run away after stabbing her. Her injuries were not life-threatening.
  The woman said she did not know the attacker. She described him as a white, dark-haired, French-speaking man in his 20s.
