Boston’s 3-0 win over Philadelphia in their afternoon game moved the Bruins one point ahead of the Canadiens into third place in the Atlantic Division.
But a victory over Detroit Saturday night would let the Canadiens leapfrog the Bruins (who will have four games in hand)..

Gun-owners' group moves rally from Polytechnique memorial to west of Quebec City
The pro-gun rally that was to be held at the memorial to the victims of the 1989 Polytechnique massacre will be held at a sugar shack in the Portneuf region, west of Quebec City, on Saturday.
On Tuesday, the gun-owners’ group decided to move the demonstration opposing the gun registry away from Montreal after its original plan, to rally at Parc Place du 6 décembre 1989 at Queen-Mary Rd. and Decelles Ave., caused widespread outrage.

The debate over a mooted political merger with Option nationale promises to be heated at Québec solidaire’s convention in Longueuil on Saturday.

Man critically injured, Highway 15 closed near Mirabel
A man is in critical condition after his vehicle flipped over and caught fire overnight on Highway 15 near Mirabel.
The man lost control of the wheel and his vehicle hit a guardrail and flipped over several times in the accident between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Other drivers quickly intervened to get the victim out of his vehicle.
