Meet the longest-serving Montreal councillors
Michèle D. Biron and Dominic Perri may be harbouring the best-kept secret in Montreal politics.
They are the longest-serving councillors among Montreal’s 103 politicians, beating councillor Marvin Rotrand, who claims he owns that title, by one week.
Perri and Biron were first elected in St-Léonard and St-Laurent, respectively, on Nov. 7, 1982, when the two present-day boroughs were independent suburbs.
Since the mergers, Perri has served as a city councillor on Montreal city -
Update: Evenko suspends ticket sales to Formula E race
Evenko has quietly suspended the sale of tickets to next year’s Formula E race.

Update: Formula E organizer says Coderre withheld details of ticket sales
The Formula E fiasco shows there’s an urgent need to rein in the power of the mayor and executive committee, says a longtime city councillor.
Snowdon councillor Marvin Rotrand was reacting to news it was the office of then-mayor Denis Coderre that ordered a lid on releasing details of ticket sales for the July 29-30 event, and not the event promoter, as Coderre had claimed.
Rotrand said this shows there is too much power centred on the city’s mayor and executive committee, and not en -
Opinion: Educate youth so no one will have to say #metoo
The #metoo movement has ignited flames around the world. With fire comes both heat and light: heat for those who have trespassed and light to show us a better way forward. This is good. Nefarious deeds should be revealed and perpetrators should be punished. The next step is to work toward preventative measures.
The negative exposure of perpetrators from all strata and walks of life will undoubtedly act as a deterrent for some. However our over-crowded jails are proof that the fear of being -

Adidas manager’s comments on French usage 'unacceptable': Couillard
Quebec Premier Philippe Couillard has criticized the manager of an Adidas store who reportedly told a Montreal crowd he would say a few words in French at an event to accommodate the city’s francophone media.

Our dams are stronger than the Habs' blue line: Hydro-Québec
Hydro-Québec has heard your jokes about the lumbering shambles better known as the Montreal Canadiens and would like you to know its infrastructure is far less prone to breakdowns than your hometown hockey team.

The main organizer of Montreal’s Formula E race said it was former mayor Denis Coderre who elected to withhold the number of tickets sold during the event.
