Opinion: First snowfall is coming, but I remain in denial
My mom sent me an email a few days ago reminding me I’d left my son’s winter boots at her house last spring, “in case you were wondering where they were.”
I hadn’t been. If winter boots were something I wanted to think about right now, I might have remembered that when we visited last Easter, my son shed his boots and traded them in for running shoes, and I left them there, thinking they might fit my niece this year.
OK, to be honest, I might not have remembered. I -
Denis Coderre's many photo ops: A retrospective
What’s left of the Denis Coderre era in Montreal?
There are granite stumps and some paved streets, obviously, but Coderre’s mayoralty also lives on in photographs.
And what photographs they were! Who can forget him, jackhammer in hand, gleefully demolishing the concrete foundation of a community mailbox? Or Coderre, decked out in an Expos jacket and baseball cap, throwing out the first pitch at the Olympic Stadium?
As mayor, Denis Coderre was either fully suited or fully -

Minnesota Wild at Canadiens: Five things you should know
Here are five things you should know about the Canadiens-Minnesota Wild game at the Bell Centre on Thursday (7:30 p.m., TSN2, RDS, TSN 690 Radio).

Coach Claude Julien wasn’t happy with the effort or the execution in that game and he’ll be reminding his players that they have a score to settle. He said the timing of this g -

Bombardier to spend $300M on C Series assembly line in Alabama
Bombardier plans to spend US$300 million to build a C Series assembly line in Alabama, according to a document filed with the United States Department of Commerce earlier this week.

Opinion: The true, hidden face of Bill 62
Let’s imagine that one day, colouring one’s hair purple is banned. It would seem arbitrary and ridiculous, especially considering how few fancy their hair purple. Bill 62, Quebec’s religious neutrality law that came into effect Oct. 18 and places restrictions on the face veil that some Muslim women wear, is similar in that it targets a very small group who choose to be different. In every other way, it is worse.
Not surprisingly, civil liberties advocates filed a legal challeng -
