Opinion: Bill 62 a victory for forces of division
Earlier this year, I stood in the front row of Maurice Richard Arena and watched Premier Philippe Couillard deliver one of the most eloquent, articulate and seemingly heartfelt speeches I’d heard in a long time.
Couillard stood shoulder to shoulder with members of the Montreal Muslim community, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mayor Denis Coderre and spoke about a community in pain. Our community as Quebecers. Our community as Canadians.

Opinion: Liberals must move on cross-border trade and travel
As asylum seekers continue to flow north from the United States, many Canadians are rightly concerned about the seeming inability of the federal government to manage these illegal immigration flows in an ethical but effective manner.
However, as the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement continues in an ever more globalized world, we must not forget the overwhelming benefits of free and legal transit across the border.
