Former Canadien Chris Nilan thinks that was a mistake.
“I’d take the torch and light (Alex Galchenyuk’s) ass on fire … that’s what I’d do,” Nilan said on this week’s HI/O Show on the Montreal Gazette’ -

Don Macpherson: Philippe Couillard shuffles, and misdeals
So, it was mainly Kathleen Weil’s fault that the Liberals lost the Louis-Hébert byelection. At least that’s the impression you might get from Premier Philippe Couillard’s emergency cabinet shuffle this week.
The shuffle was hastily improvised in response to the rout of the governing Liberals at the hands of the Coalition Avenir Québec party in Louis-Hébert nine days earlier; it was immediately after the byelection that rumours of an early shuffle began to c -

What the Puck: Canadiens fans see red as Habs stagger into season
The fans are mad as hell and now we’ll see if they’re not going to take it anymore.
I coined the phrase “the Bergevin resistance” a few months back to describe those of us who believe that the Montreal Canadiens simply can’t make any progress as long as Marc Bergevin is the team’s general manager and at the time, it was hardly a majority opinion. Now, it’s not such a marginal point of view.
Fans are fed up. They lived through the 2015-16 season, when the -
Maple Leafs at Canadiens: Five things you should know
The Canadiens have won 14 straight games over Toronto since 2014. Here are five things you should know about the Canadiens-Maple Leafs game at the Bell Centre Saturday (7 p.m., CBC, TVA Sports, TSN 690 Radio).
The loneliest number: As Three Dog Night reminded us, that would be one and that’s the number of goals the Canadiens have averaged over their first four games. That’s not going to win many games unless the goaltenders come up with a shutout and that isn’t happening. The C -

It's not always about wine: Favourite hard drinks
I may be known as the “wine guy,” but I love hard alcohols. My favourite? While I have a preference for whisky, especially rye, a fair amount of tequila is being drunk “chez nous.” I like to drink mine straight up with a single ice cube.
But like an adult Mikey, I’ll drink, or at least taste, anything. Here are some of my recent favourites.
