Increasing minimum vacation time for workers will pay off, IRIS tells Quebec government
A progressive think tank is calling for the Quebec government to increase the minimum amount of vacation time given to workers.
While Quebecers are currently entitled to at least two weeks of vacation during their first few years at a job, the Institut de recherche et d’informations socioéconomiques (IRIS) would like to see that increased to three weeks and, after five years, for the number of vacation weeks to jump from three to four.

Fall fashion fab 5: A selection of not-so-basic handbags
By Rebecca Tay, Postmedia
In our ongoing quest to express ourselves through our fashion choices, bags have emerged as an unlikely hero. Where once, our range of options started at bowler and ended at tote (with the trusty bucket bag and satchel falling in between the two extremes), these days, the choices remind us a bit of the geometry chapter of a math textbook. From symmetrical triangles to, well, animals, Rebecca Tay shares five uniquely shaped bags for right now.

Would-be Montreal mayor Valérie Plante isn't a household name. But she needs to be
The woman who would be mayor of Montreal has little trouble getting people to like her.
It’s the getting to know her part, however, that may prove Valérie Plante’s biggest hill to climb to topple Mayor Denis Coderre.
