Around the World in 80 Days, Economy Class
The world is getting smaller thanks to miraculous technological advances; after all, as one character marvels in this fast-moving take on Jules Verne’s 1870s classic, Around the World in 80 Days, information can travel from England to Australia in only a matter of days.

Bill Zacharkiw's Wines of the Week: Aug. 11, 2017
Under $18: Everyday drinking
Pinot Noir 2016, Bicicleta, Cono Sur, Chile red, $11.10, SAQ # 13284401. Better than the 2015. It’s a touch richer and less oak-ridden. There is a toasty/smoky backdrop to the ripe red fruits, which adds spice on the finish. Not the purest pinot out there, but at this price it’s a great deal, and a perfect accompaniment to lighter fare on the grill. Residual sugar: 4.4 g/L. Grape variety: pinot noir. Serve at: 15 C. Drink now. Food pairing idea:  -
Bill Zacharkiw: These wines will add some sparkle to your summer
Part of my job in this column is to break all of you of familiar habits. Stratford and Shaw: Two more reasons to call Montreal a festival city
It’s true that the Shaw and Stratford festivals are geographically in Ontario, and linguistically in the English-speaking worlds of George Bernard and the Bard. But both festivals have been linked to Montreal at least since the early ’60s, when the National Theatre School opened its doors. Almost immediately there began a two-way traffic of graduates heading for the festivals, and festival artists coming in the opposite direction to teach at the NTS, which continues to this day.
