Fans at Osheaga could have been forgiven for worrying that Liam Gallagher might not play a full set on Saturday. The notoriously temperamental musician had recently walked off stage after a few songs at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival.
In Montreal, however, Gallagher did not disappoint. He delivered what columnist Brendan Kelly described as “an epic, killer set of melodic hard rock.”

A new temporary shelter in the borough of Ahunstic-Cartierville will begin housing refugees on Sunday night, the City of Montreal announced.
The Sisters of Providence building, which is owned by the City of Montreal, can accommodate nearly 300 people.
“It’s a well-organized and suitably equipped locale,” explained Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre in a statement released by the city.

Police confirm truck found in Lachine involved in deadly crash on Highway 30
A tractor-trailer found in Lachine on Friday is the vehicle that was involved in a deadly hit-and-run on Highway 30 in Brossard earlier in the week, the Sûreté du Québec confirmed on Saturday.
