A former political aide to ex-Quebec premier Pauline Marois has pleaded guilty to counselling a criminal offence that was not committed.
Ernest Murray was part of a group of seven people, including former deputy Quebec premier Nathalie Normandeau, who were arrested in 2016 and charged with fraud-related offences.
Murray pleaded guilty Friday to sending an email to an engineering firm with names of people he claimed were willing to be used in a scheme to violate campaign finance laws.

But as has been the case with virtually every crop, the rain and cold weather in April and May have affected production.
Mélanie Therrien, who works for G. Deneault et fils (also known as Le Roi du maïs sucré) said the corn weather and rain delayed planting, and the cold nights have not helped.

The Right Chemistry: Let's not panic about 'toxic' kale
The CIA had some ingenious plans to poison Fidel Castro. Botulinum toxin in his cigars, a ballpoint pen rigged to inject nicotine sulphate and a scuba-diving suit tainted with tuberculosis bacteria were some of the cunning ways that were explored to do away with the Cuban leader.
Supposedly, there were also attempts to curb his political power by reducing his appeal to the masses. One of these involved lacing a studio with LSD to cause him to be confused and disoriented during a radio address.
