Sailing around the world a chance to fulfill lifelong dream, Quebecer says
Simon DuBois is keenly aware of the dangers of sailing on the open ocean.
He saw it first-hand in May when he helped rescue a group of six Canadian businessmen from a sinking ship near Bermuda during the Antigua-to-Bermuda race.
Despite that, DuBois is about to embark on the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, an 11-month sailing adventure that will take him around the world.
While the rescue at sea was an emotional experience, it also helped set DuBois’s mind at ease about his upcom -

Opinion: To lower Quebec's drop-out rate, make school more challenging
Just after the school year wound up in June, Gazette columnist Allison Hanes assigned some summer-vacation homework: to think about how to reinvigorate Quebec’s education system.
So, I’ve been thinking. And I’ve come to the conclusion that the solution to the province’s chronic high drop-out rates lies neither in offering students remuneration (as businessman Mitch Garber proposed earlier this year) nor in eliminating standardized, province-wide final exams, as James -
