Only 63 per cent of cancer surgeries are taking place within four weeks of request, rather than the 90 per cent target set by the Quebec government, Le Devoir reported Saturday.

Salmonella warning issued after several food poisoning cases in Quebec
Quebec’s ministry of agriculture, fisheries and food has issued a warning after several cases of salmonellosis food poisoning were reported in the province since the beginning of the year.

He left his residence in the Ahuntsic–Cartierville borough around 10:20 a.m. for his daily walk and did not return, police said on Saturday.

A 23-year-old woman could be facing charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm and dangerous operation causing bodily harm after crashing her vehicle into a Hydro-Québec pole before it caught on fire in a field in Terrebonne, police said.

Red Bulls trample ineffective Impact 4-0
The Impact hit a new low Saturday night as they dropped a 4-0 decision to the New York Red Bulls in Harrison, N.J.
A strong performance by goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau limited the home team to one goal in the first half, but the Red Bulls blew the one-sided game open in the second half.
The loss dropped the Impact into 10th place in the 11-team Eastern Conference and Montreal fell eight points behind the Columbus Crew in the fight for the sixth and final playoff spot.

Homicide suspected after man's body found at Mont St-Hilaire
A man’s body was discovered Saturday in a wooded area at the foot of Mont St-Hilaire in the Montérégie region.An ATV driver, who was passing through the area, saw the body and alerted police.The body displayed marks of violence it could be a homicide, according to the Sûreté du Québec. -
Fire destroys two residences in Terrebonne
Two homes went up in flames in Terrebonne on Saturday morning and were destroyed, said Éric Harnois, the division chief with the Terrebonne fire department.
Harnois said the Service d’Incendie de Terrebonne received a call around 5:30 a.m. The flames engulfed the first building on Croissant du Chenal when the firefighter units arrived. The flames then spread to the neighbouring home on the right.

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. — There is only one traffic light in this gorgeous little village and it’s on the corner of Main and Chestnut.
On Saturday, Main St. was closed to traffic, but it was jammed with people — many of them wearing Expos caps and jerseys ahead of Tim Raines being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday.
