Q I know this has been brought up time and time again, but seriously, I don’t understand why the city of Montreal can’t synchronize the traffic lights on major roads and boulevards. Not only would it improve traffic flow, but it would also reduce pollution and the aggravation of waiting an entire red light just to drive into another one. Is there any reason why the city refuses to do this?

Swimmer missing near Vaudreuil
The Coast Guard and firefighters from Pointe-des-Cascades and Pincourt are searching for a man in his 30s who disappeared while swimming near the locks in the Soulanges Canal.
Police in Vaudreuil received a distress call about 6:30 p.m. when one of two swimmers did not re-surface. At the time, he was swimming with another man, who is in his 50s. Driver seriously injured after a U-turn causes accident in Valleyfield
A motorist was seriously injured during a collision Saturday afternoon in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, 65 kilometres southwest of Montreal.
