One dead in collision on Highway 20 near Ste-Julie
One man is dead after a collision on Highway 20 eastbound between St-Mathieu-de-Beloiel and Ste-Julie early Monday.
The accident happened around 2 a.m. in a construction zone on the highway. Both cars were headed east, police said. The driver of one of the cars was killed when their vehicle hit a parked construction truck.

Traffic was flowing in the northbound Lafontaine Tunnel again Monday afternoon after a collision led authorities to completely close the link between Montreal and the South Shore.

A woman who stabbed her 7-year-old daughter to death in their home in Vaudreuil-Dorion two years ago has been found not criminally responsible for her actions.

Montreal libraries have recovered more than four times the number of books they expected to collect after declaring a temporary late-fee amnesty.
The three-week amnesty continues until June 22.

If history is a guide, the 75 deadliest days of the year are about to begin on Quebec roads.
One-quarter of all Quebec road fatalities occur between the St-Jean-Baptiste long weekend in June and the Labour Day long weekend in September, CAA-Québec warned Monday.

'One child is too many': Three young boys drown in separate Quebec incidents
An eight-year-old boy has died after drowning at a pool party in Sherbrooke on Saturday. His death marks the third fatal drowning in Quebec since Friday.
Samuel Ducharme, spokesperson for the Sherbrooke police, called it “an unfortunate accident.” He said there was proper supervision and other children in the pool when the boy drowned, and therefore no criminal negligence. When the boy was found, CPR was performed before he was transported to the hospital, where he died Monday. -
