The Canadian Grand Prix will run at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve at least until 2029.
Mayor Denis Coderre and representatives of the federal and Quebec governments on Friday pledged $98.2 million to a five-year extension of a contract with Formula One owners Liberty Media. The current contract was to expire in 2024.

Laval police are looking for 14-year-old Laila Necerine Chkirate, who has been missing since June 4.
She was supposed to come home by 11 p.m. but has not been seen since.
Chkirate is 5 ft. 5 inches tall and weighs 110 pounds. She speaks English and has brown eyes and purple hair, although it may be a different colour now. She was wearing a purple and blue Adidas sweater.She could be in or around Montreal or Toronto.

Ferrari dominates final practice; Stroll 18th
Ferrari drivers Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen dominated the third and final practice session Saturday at the Canadian Grand Prix.
Vettel posted the quickest lap of one minute 12.572 seconds on the 4.361-kilometre Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, 0.292 seconds ahead of Raikkonen. The Ferraris finished one-two in the same order at the Monaco Grand Prix two weeks ago.

Several organizations and companies worked behind the scenes to help victims of this spring’s flooding, but their contributions have not been publicized.
For example, the association of Quebec milk producers, Parmalat, Agropur and the dairy transportation association donated more than 50,000 litres of milk.

First ship docks at Montreal's new ferry terminal
The new $78-million ferry terminal at the Port of Montreal welcomed its first ship Saturday morning.

Man wounded in late-night stabbing in Plateau-Mont-Royal
A 21-year-old man was stabbed with a sharp object on Friday night in the Plateau-Mont-Royal area.
A brawl involving several people broke out around 2:40 a.m. as bars were closing on St-Laurent Blvd. near Duluth St.
Police intervened quickly and arrested four individuals, who will be questioned. Montreal police canine unit and forensic experts are taking part in the investigation.
The victim was stabbed in the upper half of his body but his life is not in danger.
