Five arrested after illegal dumping of debris in Montreal-area parking lots
Montreal police, working with their counterparts in Longueuil, have arrested five people in connection with the disposal of construction site debris in local parking lots.
Between Dec. 14 and Feb. 20, a transport truck had repeatedly dumped its cargo of construction debris in the parking lots of various businesses by Highways 40 and 13 in Montreal. The more than 20 incidents on Montreal Island coincided with 10 similar events in Brossard, Boucherville and Vieux Longueuil.

Montreal blue collar union trustee shares plan with rank and file
The trustee named to run Montreal’s blue collar union has written a letter to the local’s rank and file informing them of what to expect and the procedures that will be followed as the trusteeship goes into effect.
In the letter, obtained by Presse Canadienne, trusteeship administrator Denis Régimbald confirms that all of the union’s executive have been relieved of their duties and will be met with over the coming days to bring him up to speed on ongoing issues.

The incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. and saw the suspects confront the victim as he was using an ATM at a local financial institution on André-Grasset Ave. near Legendre St. in the borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.
After injuring him with an edged weapon, the suspects stole the victim’s cash and fled the scene
