Fire crews from neighbouring communities had to be called in to help with a fire that broke out in the Ramada hotel in Cochrane on Sunday. There’s a stretch of unusually warm weather ahead, accompanied by gusty westerly winds. Northwestern and southwestern parts of Alberta are expected to be hit the hardest with wind gusts of up to 90 km/h. Wind speeds pick up in Calgary by mid-morning with a brief period of extreme gusts reaching close to 70 or 80 km/h.
