Electric vehicle company Bird Canada has released details on the longest e-scooter ride recorded in Calgary this year, and it's more than 20 times the national average. Alberta reported 1,925 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, including 872 infections of the Omicron variant. The province added 627 cases on Friday, 721 on Saturday and 577 on Sunday, with the active count increasing to 5,652. One person is in hospital with serious injuries after an assault in downtown Calgary Sunday evening. Police responded to an altercation between two people in the area of 8 Avenue SW between 1 Street and Centre Street at 5:17 p.m., according to CPS.
