Red paint splashed on statues at Calgary's police and firefighter memorials
City crews were sent out Friday to clean off a pair of statues at the city's police and firefighter memorials after someone splattered red paint on them. There are no details on when the incident took place, but it likely happened sometime overnight. Calgary police Supt. Ryan Jepson called the act "disgusting" and no different than anyone vandalizing a gravesite. He added such acts will not affect how officers conduct themselves. "It's unfortunate. The good news is the members of the Calgary Pol -

Calaway Park to reopen to the public in mid-July
Western Canada's largest permanent outdoor amusement park is set to kick off its 38th season in the coming weeks and guests will encounter a slightly different park with smaller crowds compared to years past. Calaway Park's 2020 campaign was delayed as a result of the province's COVID-19 pandemic-related health order but, following five submissions to Alberta Health, the park has been permitted to reopen as part of the already underway second phase of Alberta's economic relaunch. COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we work, but it likely won't stay that way
Before the pandemic hit, few Canadian companies implemented plans to allow employees to work remotely. Now, more than three months into the COVID-19 pandemic, that idea has surged to the point where two-thirds of Canadian businesses have at least 60 per cent of their workforce working remotely. That's just one of the findings in a report sent out by the Conference Board of Canada this week. The research group published its findings in its new Remote Work Support Survey, saying that before COVID- -

'Don't date if you're sick': Canada's top doctor gives Canadians 'the talk'
As COVID-19 restrictions are eased across the country, some Canadians hoping to add a little more love to their lives may be wondering how to safely date -- and have sex. So Canada's top doctor is giving Canadians "the talk." Yes, that talk. And she wants you to take things slow. Windy today, then unsettled
It’s safe to say the city of Calgary hasn’t really had a full-on "break" in a while, if you considered yesterday’s 40 km/h gusts even a mild inconvenience. Today’s afternoon wind will be in the 50 km/h range. It would have been a swell morning for a Stampede Parade. We’re not quite out of this trough yet.
