Trump and Biden head to Iowa in a potential 2020 preview
DES MOINES, Iowa -- After months of jabbing each other from afar, U.S. President Donald Trump and Democrat Joe Biden will overlap Tuesday in Iowa, a state that's critical to their political futures. For Biden, a convincing win in next year's caucuses would cement him as the Democratic front-runner and reinforce his chief argument that he is the party's best-positioned candidate to beat Trump. The Republican president, meanwhile, is seeking to shore up his Iowa support as part of a broader effort -
Biden, Trump trade jabs in possible 2020 election preview
DAVENPORT, Iowa -- U.S. President Donald Trump and former Vice-President Joe Biden repeatedly laid into each other while travelling in the battleground state of Iowa, unleashing verbal attacks that at times felt more appropriate for the final weeks before Election Day than a lazy summer about 17 months before voters go to the polls. The back-and-forth on Tuesday laid bare the rising political stakes for each man. Trump has zeroed in on Biden as a threat to his reelection chances and is testing t -
Biden assailing Trump on trade as both come to Iowa
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Democrat Joe Biden is assailing U.S. President Donald Trump on trade and broadly branding him as "existential threat to America" in a preview of what the country might expect if he prevails in his party's primary contest. The president, also coming to Iowa on Tuesday, was likely to have some choice words in response.
