    Cornwall’s Chief of Police Shawna Spowart shared concerns on Thursday about the capacity of the proposed location for bridge housing at 330 Montreal Rd.     The Cornwall Police Service board heard the findings from two annual reports on Thursday related officer use of force and vehicle pursuits. There was an overall downward trend observed in officers using force in 2025 with 34 use-of-force reports submitted, which is a decrease from 57 in 2024 and 49 in 2023.   • Cornwall police charge man with assaulting, threatening, harassing woman

    A 19-year-old man from Cornwall is facing three charges following a police investigation. Police alleged the man assaulted his girlfriend between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31; threatened to harm the woman on Jan. 1; and, repeatedly communicated with the woman and went to places where she was known to be between Feb. 2 and March 1, causing her to fear for her safety.
