  Cornwall announced Tuesday its 2026 general taxation budget was approved on Jan. 12 with an increase to the amount provided by taxpayers of 5.41 per cent.   A 29-year-old man from Cornwall is facing three charges after responding to an intimate-violence call in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Police alleged the man punched and kicked his girlfriend, assaulted her with a household item, and damaged property in the residence.
