WHISTLER — Mark McMorris and Laurie Blouin are among the six athletes that have been named to Canada's Olympic snowboard slopestyle and big air team.
They will be joined by Eli Bouchard, Francis Jobin, Juliette Pelchat and Cameron Spalding.
McMorris, from Regina, will be making his fourth Olympic appearance in Italy in February. The 32-year-old has won bronze in each of the past three Winter Games in the men's slopestyle event.

Insured flood costs estimated at $74M in B.C.’s Fraser Valley
The Insurance Bureau of Canada says severe weather and flooding that lashed southern British Columbia and parts of Alberta last month caused close to $90 million in insured damage, with B.C.'s Fraser Valley suffering the heaviest losses.

Tribunal upholds $10K fine for B.C. ostrich farm over failure to report sick birds
The Canada Agricultural Review Tribunal has upheld a $10,000 fine handed to the British Columbia ostrich farm whose flock of more than 300 birds was culled last fall, nearly 11 months after the confirmation of an avian influenza outbreak.

RICHMOND — The City of Richmond says it will challenge an order by B.C.'s privacy watchdog to remove high-definition surveillance cameras at an intersection on the grounds the city lacked authorization to gather private information.

VANCOUVER — The murderer of a young man whose brother was later arrested for the Lapu Lapu festival attack that killed 11 people last year says it was a "ripple effect" from his own crime.
