MAPLE RIDGE — Police in Maple Ridge are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman who has been missing for more than a week.
On December 29, at around 4 a.m., RCMP say 37-year-old Shannon Samms was last seen in the 21600 block of Lougheed Highway in Maple Ridge.

Pedestrian struck and killed by train in Langley, B.C.
LANGLEY — A pedestrian has been killed after being hit by a train in Langley, B.C., Thursday night.
RCMP say it happened at about 7:55 p.m. near 206 Street and 98 Avenue.
Police, firefighters and ambulance responded to a call reporting the incident and found the unidentified victim who had been struck by a train.
The pedestrian died at the scene.
No further details of the collision or the circumstances surrounding the case have been released.

Man, 21, facing criminal charges in B.C. crash that killed two people
CHETWYND — A 21-year-old man is now facing multiple criminal charges in a 2024 crash that left two people dead, including a 15-year-old boy.
The BC Highway Patrol says the man from Fort St. John has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, as well as two counts of impaired driving causing death.
The crash happened on April 7, 2024 on Highway 97 near Chetwynd in B.C.'s northeast region.

LANGLEY — Langley RCMP are now investigating a fatal train collision that happened on Thursday evening (Jan. 8).
