WASHINGTON — Canadian Conservative MP Michael Chong will be in the U.S. capital Tuesday to tell Capitol Hill lawmakers what it’s like to be a target of a Chinese foreign interference campaign.
Chong is one of several witnesses who are scheduled to appear before the Congressional-Executive Commission on China.
Chong says he’s unafraid to tell his story and to speak on behalf of the countless other Canadians that he says have also been targeted.

VICTORIA — British Columbia is undertaking a $600,000 expansion of the province's forensic firearms lab, a move the government says is a direct response to the recent rash of extortion violence.

Man arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at passengers on a city bus: AbbyPD
ABBOTSFORD — Police in Abbotsford say a man has been arrested after AbbyPD got reports that a man on a city bus allegedly pointed a firearm at passengers.
According to a statement from police, AbbyPD officers were dispatched to the area of McCallum Road and Highway 1 shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
Officers quickly arrived in the area, located the male suspect and safely took him into custody.
