Man crashes car after avoiding deer on Dewdney Trunk Rd.
MISSION — A man who succeeded in avoiding a deer late last week wasn’t so lucky when he subsequently crashed into a cedar tree on Dewdney Trunk Road west of Mission last week.According to a social media post from the Mission RCMP, Mounties responded at around 10 p.m. on Friday night, May 5 to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Dewdney Trunk Road near Welch Avenue. RCMP investigate gunfire on First Nation in Saskatchewan after deadly shooting
Police in northern Saskatchewan are investigating a report of gunshots on a First Nation and whether they're tied to a deadly shooting there last week.
Mounties say they were called late Friday to Big Island Lake Cree Nation about 400 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
They say they didn't find anyone with injuries and are looking to determine whether there is any connection to an early morning shooting on Dec. 30.
That shooting has left one person dead and three others with injuries.

VICTORIA — The Conservative Party of British Columbia says it has formed a leadership election organizing committee tasked with overseeing the selection of its new leader.
Scott Lamb, chair of the committee, says in a statement that B.C. is "desperately in need of new leadership" to guide the province.
