    CHILLIWACK — The second oldest continually run fair is celebrating its 151 anniversary with its opening Friday (Aug. 11) in Chilliwack. The three-day Chilliwack Fair is taking over Chilliwack Heritage Park through the weekend.
    While it all began as a celebration of the agricultural heritage in the region, it has expanded to showcase the growing diversity of the Fraser Valley.

    VICTORIA — RCMP are investigating a school fire on the territory of the Blueberry River First Nation in northern British Columbia.A statement from RCMP in Fort St. John says officers responded to the fire at around 6:30 a.m. MST Saturday.It says police and local fire crews found the school fully engulfed in flames when they got there.
