OTTAWA — Canada and Germany have signed a joint declaration of intent to work together on growing the field of artificial intelligence.
The signing also coincides with the launch of a Sovereign Technology Alliance between the two countries.

DUNEDIN — Third baseman Kazuma Okamoto and outfielder Jesus Sanchez have officially arrived at the Toronto Blue Jays' spring training camp.

Canadian Forces to conduct earthquake training exercise around Hope
HOPE — Hope residents can expect to see a lot of military activity in the area next week. The Vancouver-based 39 Canadian Brigade Group will be participating in an exercise named Cougar Ready. It is three days of earthquake preparedness training beginning Friday, February 20.
The Brigade Group is made up of Canadian Armed Forces Army Reservists. They will be dealing with a simulation of a 6.2 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter near the Fraser Valley.
