Hit-and-run suspect in Coquitlam was allegedly just ‘going to move SUV’, drives away instead
COQUITLAM — Police in Coquitlam are asking for witnesses to a hit-and-run that left one pedestrian seriously injured earlier this week.
On March 3, shortly after 1 p.m., Coquitlam RCMP responded to the single-vehicle collision between a red SUV with an unknown licence plate and a pedestrian at Atlantic Avenue and The High Street.
Officers were told the driver initially stopped, but had since driven away. The vehicle was not located despite patrol efforts.

Montreal police investigate the suspicious death of a man found downtown
MONTREAL — A man died Sunday morning in hospital after a passerby found him lying on Sainte-Catherine Street East in downtown Montreal.
Police spokesperson Johany Charland says the man was discovered lying on the road near Fafard Street around 4:45 a.m. in critical condition.
Charland says the death is considered suspicious.The causes and circumstances of the death are currently unknown.Charland says forensic technicians are on site collecting evidence to help clarify the situation.

She finished first in the women's standing biathlon competition at Tesero Cross-Country Skiing Stadium.
