STAVELY — Tributes across Canada and the hockey community have embraced a small Alberta town, where three junior hockey players died in a car crash trying to cross a divided highway to get to morning practice.
Although most of the Southern Alberta Mustangs are not from Stavely, they fit right in, said resident Dale Ohler.
He and others would watch out their front windows as players go by on their routine runs, a coach's young daughter sometimes trailing behind them on her bicycle.

Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett has been named to Canada's men's hockey team for the Milan Cortina Olympics in place of injured Tampa Bay Lightning centre Anthony Cirelli.

NASA delays Artemis launch with Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen until March
WASHINGTON — NASA has delayed the planned launch of moon rocket with a Canadian on board until at least March.
In a press conference in Florida today, NASA officials said the Artemis II astronauts, including Canadian Jeremy Hansen, have been released from quarantine and are in Houston, home to the Johnson Space Center.

EDMONTON — Premier Danielle Smith says her government will withhold funding for new judicial appointments in Alberta if the federal government doesn't give the province a say on who is picked.

Three junior hockey players mourned after crash in southern Alberta
STAVELY — Prime Minister Mark Carney says his heart goes out to the families and teammates of three junior hockey players killed in a crash in Alberta.

RICHMOND — Vancouver International Airport says it saw a record number of travellers and cargo shipments last year.
The airport says it saw more than 26.9 million travellers in 2025, a 2.7 per cent year-over-year increase.
