Canada may be the happiest member of the G7, according to the recently released World Happiness report, but it’s taken quite a tumble over the past couple of decades.

B.C. Wildfire Service sees record number of applications for 2025 season: province
VICTORIA — The British Columbia Wildfire Service has recorded its highest-ever number of applicants ahead of the 2025 season while expanding First Nations recruitment.
A statement from the Forests Ministry says the service has received more than 1,700 applications since October, the highest number ever received.

Former Michigan assistant coach charged with hacking computer accounts for athlete’s intimate photos
DETROIT (AP) — A former NFL and University of Michigan assistant football coach hacked into the computer accounts of thousands of college athletes seeking intimate photos and videos, according to an indictment filed Thursday.
Matt Weiss, who worked for the Baltimore Ravens before joining the University of Michigan in 2021, was charged with 14 counts of unauthorized computer access and 10 counts of identity theft.

OTTAWA — A deal to send Canadian green hydrogen exports to Germany is awaiting Ottawa’s final decision on funding and a verdict from European regulators on whether the project has adequate competition.
