AGASSIZ — A youth suspect has been identified after a reported stabbing on Seabird Island, near Agassiz, on Friday (Mar. 7).
At around 8:27 p.m., police say Agassiz Mounties were notified of the incident at a home in the 8500 block of Sth’i:tsem Road. First responders attended the scene and found a victim with non-life-threatening injuries, who was then transported to hospital via air ambulance.Police found the young suspect at a nearby residence and arrested him. OTTAWA — Brady Tkachuk knew he had to fire the puck, and the shot paid big dividends.
In his 500th career game, Tkachuk scored 33 seconds into overtime to give the Ottawa Senators a hard-fought 4-3 win over the New York Rangers on Saturday. It was the Ottawa captain’s second goal of the game.
Coincidentally, Tkachuk also played his 300th career game against the Rangers and had a two-goal game, including the overtime winner.

OTTAWA — The federal Liberal government signed an initial deal with Irving Shipbuilding for the Royal Canadian Navy’s new River-class destroyers.

GUDAURI — Canada’s Eliot Grondin earned World Cup bronze in the men’s snowboard cross on Saturday in Georgia.
The Sainte-Marie, Que., native finished behind Austria’s Jakob Dusek and Australia’s Adam Lambert, who won gold and silver, respectively.

Shooting near Scarborough Town Centre in Toronto injures 11, suspect at large
TORONTO — Eleven people have been injured after reports of a shooting at a pub near Scarborough Town Centre mall in east Toronto.
Police say multiple people were shot near Progress Avenue and Corporate Drive on Friday night.
