QUÉBEC — Kati Tabin had a goal and an assist for her first two points of the season as the Montréal Victoire held off the Ottawa Charge 2-1 Sunday in a Professional Women’s Hockey Game before a sold-out crowd at the Videotron Centre.
Tabin’s goal came on a third-period power play and stood as the winner.

The 21-year-old from Oakville, Ont., debuted her “Butterfly Lovers Concerto” program and scored 133.87 points in the free skate, bringing her total to 203.87.

ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) — The death toll from a gasoline tanker explosion in north-central Nigeria has risen to 86, the country’s emergency response agency said on Sunday.
The blast happened in the early hours of Saturday near the Suleja area of Niger state after individuals attempted to transfer gasoline from a crashed oil tanker into another truck using a generator.
The fuel transfer sparked the explosion, resulting in the deaths of those transferring the gasoline and bystanders.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says 61 cases of salmonella across the country, including 17 that have required hospitalization, have been linked to recalled mini pastries.
The agency says the Sweet Cream brand mini pastries have been distributed at bakeries, hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, retirement residences, and have been served at catered events.
