Eggs in Alberta, B.C., Ont., Man., Sask., recalled over salmonella concerns
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall due to a possible salmonella contamination of certain brands of eggs in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Saskatchewan and other possible provinces.
The agency says the recall covers Compliments, Foremost, Golden Valley Eggs, IGA, no name and Western Family eggs.The expiry dates for recalled eggs are Feb. 16, Feb. 22 and March 1.

MISSION — A call about a large, live iguana sunbathing near the shoulder of Lougheed Highway on January 11 had Mission RCMP officers gearing up for an unusual showdown.

MISSION — RCMP say a pair of Ford F-350 pickup trucks were stolen from the Mission area over the past week.
The first vehicle, a black 2003 F-350, was taken overnight on the night of January 10 from 11th Avenue near Horne Street. It was recovered later that evening in Chilliwack, according to authorities.
The second truck, a white 2000 F-350, was stolen from Raven Avenue near Wren Street sometime between January 8 and January 11. Police said it has not yet been located.

VANCOUVER — Crews in downtown Vancouver are demolishing a more than century-old heritage building that the city’s chief building official says is so badly damaged it is at risk of collapse.

Environment Canada issued extreme cold warnings for much of the Prairies and parts of Ontario and Quebec on Saturday morning as arctic air poured south.

ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department is reporting a busy Friday night. According to a social media post Saturday (Jan. 18) the AbbyPD dealt with 73 complaints ranging from assaults to impaired driving.

OTTAWA — Pat King, an organizer of the 2022 “Freedom Convoy” protest, is set to be sentenced Feb. 7.
