The chief of a First Nation in central British Columbia says potential unmarked graves have been identified at the site of the former Lejac Indian Residential School after nearly two years of geophysical survey work.
Nadleh Whut’en Chief Beverly Ketlo says the community has always known children were buried at the institution because many of their graves are marked in a cemetery.

SURREY – The search for an 18-year-old Surrey teen, Joseph Maku, who had been reported missing in October, is now over.
In a Facebook post Friday night, Brenda Maku, Joseph’s sister, shared the “devastating news” that he was found deceased in Delta, BC.

DELTA – Delta Police are investigating a Friday morning incident involving a vehicle that went “off-road” near the Fraser River as a potential “criminal matter.”
