NEW WESTMINSTER – B.C.’s transit authority says it will be operating a “special midnight train” between Mission and Vancouver ahead of Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” show next Saturday at B.C. Place.
Translink says the Dec. 7 route will see the train depart Mission City Station at 4 p.m. with the return trip leaving Waterfront Station at 12:15 a.m.

Canada pledges $50M for Palestinian humanitarian needs ahead of Gaza aid conference
OTTAWA — The Liberal government is announcing $50 million in humanitarian assistance for Palestinians in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Prime Minister Trudeau adds $7.1 million to P.E.I. school food program
MOUNT STEWART, P.E.I. — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau travelled to Prince Edward Island today where he announced $7.1 million over three years to support that province’s school food program.The money is from the federal government’s $1-billion, five-year universal, national school food program that was promised during the 2021 election campaign.

Winter storm watch issued as snow, heavy rain expected for B.C. coast

OTTAWA — Manuel Vega has been named chief executive officer of Atletico Ottawa, succeeding Fernando Lopez who left earlier this year.

One woman killed, one hurt in armed robbery attempt southeast of Quebec City
SAINT-ANSELME, Que. — One woman was killed and another was badly injured following an alleged armed robbery attempt at a clothing store southeast of Quebec City.
Quebec provincial police say the suspect entered the business in St-Anselme, Que., at around 8 p.m. Thursday and wounded the two female employees before fleeing on foot.

OTTAWA — The Finance Department says the federal deficit was $13 billion between April and September.
