OTTAWA — The Ottawa Redblacks and Edmonton Elks enter their CFL Week 7 rematch in very different places.
The Redblacks (3-2) are on a high after a comeback 37-34 win in Edmonton on Sunday and have a chance to pick up a third straight win at home.
For Edmonton (0-5), the loss was the end of the line for head coach and general manager Chris Jones, who was fired the next day. Jarious Jackson, in an interim role, will be making his debut as a CFL head coach this week.

TOFINO, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA — RCMP say two people are dead after the crash of a small aircraft at the Long Beach Airport in Tofino on Vancouver Island.
Police say a third person has been seriously injured in the crash involving a six-seat aircraft.
Tofino RCMP say they were called to the scene at 12:48 p.m. and information is limited but it appears the plane may have suffered an engine fire during takeoff.

MONTREAL — The Supreme Court of Canada has refused to hear an appeal by a former chair of Montreal city council’s executive committee, who wanted to avoid facing trial on corruption charges.
The decision confirms Frank Zampino and his fellow accused will be tried on charges of fraud, breach of trust and municipal corruption, with a trial scheduled to begin in January 2025.
As per its usual practice, the high court did not publish its reasons for refusing to hear the case.
