CALGARY — Before he launched a campaign that would see him take over as leader of Alberta’s New Democrats, Naheed Nenshi worried politics had become too polarized, too toxic for him.
But ultimately that was why the man known for espousing “politics in full sentences” decided he had to return.
“The players make the game. And if we abandon the game because it’s so awful, then the game will get worse,” Nenshi said in an interview before winning the party&rs -

Edmonton Oilers on the brink of a Stanley Cup win after improbable comeback
EDMONTON — A storybook Stanley Cup win is there for the Edmonton Oilers.
A win away from rewriting some NHL history, the Oilers headed to Florida on Saturday for Monday’s Game 7 that seemed improbable a week earlier.
No team in the NHL’s expansion era has trailed 3-0 in the Stanley Cup final and come back to win the best-of-seven championship.Only the 1942 Maple Leafs did it 82 years ago. Only four teams in NHL history have trailed a best-of-seven playoff series 3-0 and won it: -

Conservatives avoid staking out clear position on supervised consumption sites
OTTAWA — As debate around the Liberals’ drug policy dominated parts of the spring House of Commons sitting, the Conservatives are offering little insight into what approach they would take when it comes to supervised consumption sites.
When asked earlier this month if a future Tory government would look to change the application process for opening such centres, the party’s addictions critic said she couldn’t speculate.
“But I do think that this has been politicized -
