CALGARY — Hockey Canada granted Landon DuPont, a 14-year-old defenceman from Calgary, exceptional player status Monday.

VANCOUVER — A Crown lawyer says holdups to the trial of a man found guilty of murdering a 13-year-old Burnaby, B.C., girl were mostly attributable to the defence and “discrete exceptional events,” as he argued against the case being thrown out over delays.

Father says 11-year-old boy felt safe with dogs before deadly attack in Edmonton home
EDMONTON — The father of an 11-year-old boy killed in a dog attack in an Edmonton home says he never saw the two animals act aggressively towards people.
Wesley Grist says the large dogs belonged to his roommate, and they have since been euthanized.
