NHL defencemen talk benefits, drawbacks of playing their off-side
TORONTO — Rasmus Dahlin is comfortable feeling slightly uncomfortable.
The Buffalo Sabres all-star defenceman actually enjoys it.
A left-shooting Swede, Dahlin has staked his claim to the right side of the ice on his club’s top pair the last few seasons.
It was an adjustment — and a move that isn’t for everyone.
“If you’re on a team with a lot of lefties someone’s got to do it, right?” he joked. “But I like it. When you have the puck on your -

Shohei Ohtani won’t pitch this season after major elbow surgery, but he can still hit. Here’s why
PHOENIX (AP) — Shohei Ohtani is unique in Major League Baseball history, a two-way Japanese superstar who can excel as a hitter and a pitcher, sometimes in the same game.
But for the 2024 season, Ohtani will be just a hitter.
That’s because Ohtani is recovering from an injured elbow ligament — the ulnar collateral ligament — that often leads to a procedure colloquially known as Tommy John surgery. Ohtani has been vague about the exact procedure he had last September, but -

VANCOUVER — British Columbia is joining seven provinces in paying for some of the cost of in vitro fertilization but scant details and long-standing inequities have raised questions about how the plan could benefit patients.
