MONTREAL — Claire Dalton scored three goals, including a short-handed effort which snapped a 1-1 tie late in the second period, to lead Montreal to a 6-3 victory over Ottawa in Professional Women’s Hockey League action Saturday at Verdun Auditorium.
The win moved Montreal (5-3-2-2) into first place with 24 points. That’s three better than Minnesota, which has an opportunity to reclaim a share of the lead Sunday with a win at home over Boston.

Alberta to host world junior hockey championship in 2027
EDMONTON — The world junior hockey championship is returning to Alberta.
Hockey Canada says the province will host the world juniors in 2027. No cities or venues for the tournament have been set.
Alberta last hosted the world juniors in 2022 in Edmonton. Ottawa will host the event next year while the 2026 tournament will take place in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minn.

Adam Ruzicka’s contract is being terminated by the Arizona Coyotes after he cleared unconditional waivers on Saturday.

Toronto FC added to a flurry of personnel moves ahead of Sunday’s MLS season opener, signing teenage defender Adam Pearlman to a homegrown player contract.

ABBOTSFORD — A motor vehicle accident has left hundreds of residents in Abbotsford without power Saturday morning.
According to an outage map description, 700 customers in Abbotsford lost power at 1:46 a.m. early Saturday (Feb. 24) following a motor vehicle incident.
The affected areas include north of Eagle Mountain Drive, south of Pierce, west of Whatcom Road, and east of Old Clayburn Road.

OTTAWA — The federal information watchdog says she will look into allegations about destruction of records related to the controversial ArriveCan app.
