Liberals to pause carbon pricing on heating oil, beef up heat pump incentives
OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced that the government will double the carbon price rebate for rural Canadians beginning next April.
Trudeau also says there will be a temporary, three-year pause to carbon pricing measures that are applied to deliveries of heating oil, beginning in two weeks.
A government press release says the change will mean that households that use heating oil would save about $250, on average, at the current rate.

Stampeders looking to keep momentum going against Blue Bombers
CALGARY — Don’t tell Calgary linebacker Micah Awe that Friday night’s game between the Stampeders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers at McMahon Stadium doesn’t mean anything.
Although a victory for Calgary (6-11) over Winnipeg (13-4) in the season finale for both teams won’t affect the standings or the playoff picture, Awe said it’s important for the Stampeders to build on the momentum they have established by winning their previous two games to clinch third spot in th -

Dr. Sarah Zipp’s research has found that one of the biggest obstacles preventing young women from staying in sport is menstruation and that most athletic programs lack the supports to help them play through their periods or eve -

Sikh activists in B.C. emboldened by Trudeau’s comments on India ahead of referendum
SURREY, B.C. — Organizers of an upcoming vote on an independent Sikh state say Canada’s allegations of India’s links to the killing of activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar have significantly bolstered vocal support for their cause.
