TORONTO — Captain Michael Bradley, on the eve of his last game with Toronto FC, opened up Friday about his love for the city and the club, the debt to his family and his excitement at transitioning to the coaching ranks down the line.

Blue Bombers host Elks with West Division title in their sights
WINNIPEG — Zach Collaros has tunnel vision when it comes to the Blue Bombers home game against the Edmonton Elks on Saturday.
The veteran quarterback is focused on leading Winnipeg (12-4) to a victory over the Elks (4-13), which would clinch first place in the West Division for a third consecutive season.
However, that feat could be accomplished before the game, depending on the outcome of Friday night’s CFL action between the B.C. Lions and Calgary Stampeders.
If the Lions (12-5) lo -

Appeal court orders new trial for former senior Montreal politician Zampino
MONTREAL — Quebec’s Court of Appeal has ordered the former chair of Montreal city council’s executive committee to stand trial on corruption charges.
The three-judge panel found that a lower court judge erred when she stayed charges against Frank Zampino in 2019, after finding that police wiretaps violated his constitutional rights.
The appeal court said in its decision that the wiretaps — which captured conversations with lawyers — violated Zampino’s rights, -

Argos president Manning has plenty to be happy with, on and off the football field
TORONTO — President Bill Manning has plenty to be happy about regarding the Toronto Argonauts.
Toronto (14-2) boasts the CFL’s best record and could tie the league’s single-season record by winning its final two regular-season contests. Another victory would match the franchise best established in 1996-97 when late head coach Don Matthews and all-star quarterback Doug Flutie guided the Argos to consecutive Grey Cup titles.

Haudenosaunee Lacrosse team one step away from achieving Olympic dreams
The Haudenosaunee Nationals are one step away from achieving a decades-long dream.
Lacrosse was restored to the Olympics program on Monday, with men’s and women’s versions of the game to be played at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. Because lacrosse was created by the Haudenosaunee people centuries before European colonizers arrived in North America, the originators of the game play independently of Canada or the United States in international lacrosse competitions.
