Evacuation order issued in central B.C., more than 400 wildfires burn across province
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — An evacuation order has been issued by Cariboo Regional District for 28 properties in the Horn Lake Area in central British Columbia.
This comes as the BC Wildfire Service says fire behaviour on the nearby Hell Raving Creek blaze, which is now 114-square kilometres in size, has increased due to strong winds.
This order replaces the evacuation alert that was issued Friday.

CHILLIWACK — There are no reports of any damages after British Columbia was hit by two earthquakes Sunday (Sept. 17).
Earthquakes Canada says a 5.5 magnitude quake was registered early this morning at 4:28 a.m. after a 4.2 magnitude quake about an hour and a half earlier at 2:59 a.m. near the same location.
The epicentre was 206 kilometres west of Port Hardy, north of Vancouver Island.

ABBOTSFORD — Three people were sent to hospital following a series of stabbings in Abbotsford Saturday (Spt. 16) evening.
According to a news release from Abbotsford police, officers were called to a residence in the 1900 block of McCallum Road at 6:49 p.m. When they arrived, they found two people suffering from stab wounds.
With assistance from members of the Abbotsford Fire Department and paramedics, the two victims were stabilized and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
