SAINT-ANSELME, Que. — A mayor southeast of Quebec City says a body has been found in the river where a Ukrainian refugee was reported missing nine days ago.
St-Anselme, Que., Mayor Yves Turgeon says provincial police told him that a body was recovered in the Etchemin River in his town.
Turgeon referred all other queries to Quebec provincial police, for which a spokesperson said authorities were working to retrieve the body.

CALGARY — One of the plaintiffs in a class-action lawsuit against the Calgary Stampede says he agrees with a member of Parliament who wants the federal government to temporarily withdraw funding for the organization.

CHILLIWACK —Following a lengthy labour dispute, buses will be rolling again next week across the Fraser Valley. The move comes after CUPE Local 561 and First Transit Canada ratified a new contract July 21.

MONTREAL — Police in Akwesasne say a body found this month in the St. Lawrence River is that of a man connected to the investigation into the deaths of eight migrants.
Police say the coroner’s office has identified the dead man as Casey Oakes, 30, who had been missing since March.
