Dunfield was handed the head coaching position, albeit for four games to start, after TFC fired veteran head coach Bob Bradley on Monday.
His first on-field test will be Saturday against Real Salt Lake at BMO Field.

LYTTON, B.C. — Mounties say their investigation into the devastating fire that destroyed most of the village of Lytton, B.C., two years ago remains “active and ongoing.”
Staff Sgt. Kris Clark of the B.C. RCMP says officers don’t have a timeline for when their probe into possible criminality might be complete, and are mindful of other investigations around regulatory compliance and the cause of the fire.
A state of local emergency was declared by the village on June 30, 20 -

A handful of NHL teams spent Friday clearing out salary cap space with some big-money buyouts on the eve of free agency.
The Nashville Predators led the way by buying out Matt Duchene’s contract. The 32-year-old center had three years left on his deal at an annual cap hit of $8 million.

The 47-year-old colonel and CF-18 pilot is to become the first Canadian to travel to the moon as part of the Artemis II mission, which could launch as early as November next year.
The 10-day mission involves slingshotting into deep space for a figure-8 manoeuvre around the far side of the moon. It w -

‘An interesting time’: Cap-squeezed NHL set to open free agency Saturday
Brad Treliving remembers a time when NHL general managers were basically done with free agency shortly after the window opened.
Big names quickly scooped up, roles filled, rosters largely set.
The COVID-19 pandemic — and the economic disaster that followed — has ensured, at least for the time being, that’s no longer the case.
“Five years ago, by July 2 you could hang the ‘Gone Fishing’ sign up,” said Treliving, GM of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

SAO PAULO (AP) — A panel of judges voted Friday to render far-right former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro ineligible to run for office again after concluding that he abused his power and cast unfounded doubts on the country’s electronic voting system.
The decision, once all judges have voted, will forbid Bolsonaro from running until 2030, upending the 68-year-old’s political future and likely erasing any chance for him to regain power.

Indiana Supreme Court upholds abortion ban, says state constitution gives only limited protections
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Supreme Court ruled Friday that the state’s abortion ban doesn’t violate the state constitution, removing a major hurdle to enforcing the ban Republicans approved last summer.
