A triple stabbing during a gender studies class at the University of Waterloo is believed to have been a hate-motivated attack, police said Thursday as they laid multiple charges against a 24-year-old former student.
The attack that took place Wednesday injured three people and shocked the university campus located about 100 kilometres west of Toronto.

LONDON — Canada’s Carol Zhao advanced to the Wimbledon main draw with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 win over American CoCo Vanderweghe in the third round of qualifying on Thursday.

CHILLIWACK — A modest fee increase for drop-ins, punch tickets and memberships will take effect this weekend on Canada Day at two city-owned recreation centres in Chilliwack.
Chilliwack Landing Leisure Centre wrote on Facebook Thursday morning that drop-in, punch passes and membership fees will be increasing starting this Saturday, July 1 at both the Chilliwack Leisure Landing Centre and the Cheam Leisure Centre.
