OTTAWA — The Trudeau government is earmarking $1.5 million for LGBTQ community organizations to boost security measures at Pride parades and other events this summer.

MONTREAL — The Quebec government says there are 164 wildfires burning across the province, including at least 114 that are out of control.
Kateri Champagne Jourdain, the minister responsible for the Côte-Nord region, told reporters in Sept-Îles, Que., that the fires in her region northeast of Quebec City are unprecedented.

CALGARY — One of the men who brought the Winter Olympic Games to Calgary in 1988 has died.
Bob Niven, who was president of the bid committee, died May 26 at the age of 80.

One dead following motorcycle vs car collision in Abbotsford
ABBOTSFORD — A 58-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was driving was involved in a two-vehicle crash Sunday (Jun.4) evening in Abbotsford.
