TORONTO — It’s a double-derby week for Toronto FC and CF Montreal, two teams that have been on roller-coaster rides already this season.

TB screening planned for Nunavut hamlet battling outbreak since 2021
PANGNIRTUNG, Nunavut — The Nunavut government and Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated, a group representing Inuit in the territory, are holding a community-wide screening clinic for tuberculosis in Pangnirtung later this year.
The screening is to begin in September and continue through November.

Family, friends gather at private funeral for Gordon Lightfoot in his hometown
ORILLIA, Ont. — Close friends and family of Gordon Lightfoot came together for a small, private funeral on Monday held at the Orillia, Ont. church where he was once a choir boy.
A group of roughly 50 people assembled inside St. Paul’s United Church for the nearly two-hour ceremony that included a choir performance.
Outside, the local community went about the day as any other, with some doing yard work and a few curious onlookers wandering past the church to see what was happening.

CFL unveils several rule changes for upcoming regular season
TORONTO — The football won’t have to be handled in order for a single to be awarded on a kickoff starting this CFL season.
The removal of that requirement was among the changes unanimously approved by the CFL’s board of governors, the league announced Monday. The adjustments were originally proposed by the CFL’s rules committee.
