HYÈRES, France — Canadian Olympian Sarah Douglas won gold in ICLA 6 at the French Olympic Week sailing competition on Saturday.
Douglas earned 74 points to beat Tokyo 2020 and 2022 world championship gold medallist Anne-Marie Rindom of Denmark by one point.
It’s the second time Douglas has won a major international event in the last year.
Douglas earned first place at the Sailing World Cup in April 2022 — part of the Princess Sofia Trophy in Spain.

Canadian Derek Gee has been named to Israel-Premier Tech’s team for the Giro d’Italia, the first Grand Tour of the cycling season.
The 25-year-old from Ottawa, who came fifth in the team pursuit at the Tokyo Olympics, will support Italian Domenico Pozzovivo in his general classification campaign. Gee won the 2022 Canadian time trial national championship.
